Dewsbury based Femmes De Paix working in partnership with Heckmondwike Grammar School to run a Med Box project

With the help and support of our fantastic teachers, staff and MedSoc students group we are running a Med Box project. The Medical Boxes will be sent abroad to war-torn countries or places of crisis. The students will add a personal note talking about where they come from, their interests and why they decided to make these boxes. The notes will be translated and a copy will be attached inside the box, adding a personal touch.

The boxes will contain the following Items.

  • basic painkillers;
  • antiseptics and antibiotics;
  • plasters, wound coverings, and bandages;
  • cotton pads;
  • antiseptic wipes;
  • sanitary towels;
  • emergency foil blankets;
  • nappy bags;
  • hand sanitizers;
  • dental care;
  • cough capsules.

We have also asked for support from local businesses and a local mosque. We believe in building strong partnerships and coming together to flourish as one community.

We will keep you updated on the outcome. Here are some of the pictures of the boxes currently donated by children attending the Darul Ilm Mosque in Thornhill Lees.

All the MedBoxes have now been sealed and labelled and are being transported to families in Idlib, Syria. Well done to the Sixth Form students involved in this fantastic project @femmesdepaix #project #MedSoc pic.twitter.com/xouDSmj4s3— Heckmondwike Grammar School (@HeckGrammar) March 20, 2019
